CONSULTS ARE NOT FOR YOU IF....

Hi! I'm Sarah!

I am a mom of 4, Registered Nurse, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)  and Founder of Milksprout whose mission and purpose is to empower you to care confidently along your breastfeeding and/or pumping journey, through education, so that you can make informed decisions that are best for your family.

I remember, when my oldest was born, I thought that breastfeeding would be effortless.  From the moment of our first latch, we struggled.  I remember wanting (re: desperately needing) help, but the anxiety of leaving my house with a child that took an army of arms and a million pillows and gadgets to try to latch was too overwhelming.  And, with Houston traffic, and the amount of time it took to get anywhere, I would have been pulled over on the side of the road trying to breastfeed.

Fast forward a few years and here I am, following a dream and a passion that stemmed from my own breastfeeding and pumping struggles, victories, knowledge and experience with my 4 kids, to meet families where they are at (online or in their home) to help them through their challenges so that they are able to reach their own unique and individual breast milk feeding goals.

I am so honored to work with the most amazing families around the world through my online support and to be able to serve Indianapolis area families through in-home support.

“I learned to look for the early cues of feeding and not just wait until they’re upset. And I learned to expect certain things on certain days, like super sleepy baby day, super fussy baby day and super hungry baby day. I think not knowing that you’d start to freak out on those days when it seems like you can’t meet their needs.  I loved that I could do it on my own time, how well you explained things, and that it really helped me feel more ready for this new step. I was more nervous about breastfeeding that the actual labor and now I’m relaxed about both.”

“Sarah has been largely instrumental in my breastfeeding journey. Being a first time mom, I had several questions and concerns regarding breastfeeding/pumping and milk supply. I reached out to Sarah when I was 4 weeks postpartum and  within minutes of meeting her she made me feel comfortable about my concerns by thoroughly answering all my questions and offering a wealth of knowledge to make my breastfeeding experience a success. After our first consult, I immediately went to my husband and expressed how wonderful it was to have met with a Lactation consultant that was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and attentive. I knew after our first meeting that I wanted to continue to work with Sarah for any future questions or issues that may arise. I am 4 months strong into breastfeeding my baby girl and I have  reached out to Sarah for several different issues and each time she has provided me with great information and makes me feel at ease about all my worries. Sarah is part of my breastfeeding/pumping success and I feel so fortunate to have found her.”
